UPDATE: Shooting Death in Fayette County

Update: An earlier release we received listed an incorrect name. The Coroner's office sent out a corrected release late Friday evening.

Fayette County authorities are investigating a shooting death.

Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris was called in the early morning hours Friday to the scene of the shooting. Dead is 62-year Troy Wesley Evans of Brownstown.

The matter is currently under investigation by the Fayette County Coroner's Office, Fayette County Sheriff's Department, and Illinois State Police.

Harris said an autopsy is pending and said no further details are being released at this time.
