Informational Meeting Tonight on Human Trafficking

A reminder of tonight's public information session on the topic of Human Trafficking.

The session will be held at the Holiday Inn, 1301 Avenue of Mid-America in Effingham. Included will be a powerful story from a survivor of human trafficking.

Doors open at 6pm and the event will begin at 6:30pm. The event is free and open to the public.

The information to be shared is explicit in nature and could be disturbing to those under age 16. The session is intended to increase public awareness of the growing issue of human trafficking extending across the nation.

Presenters at the informational session will include Trish McKnight, Survivor/Advocate and CEO of Butterfly Dreams Alliance, NFP; Jason McFarland, Effingham Chief of Police; Annie Shoemaker, Director of Eden's Glory, a restoration home for survivors of human trafficking; and Nikki Quandt, Executive Director, Heartland Human Services.
