Wilhour Reacts to Arroyo Resignation

State Representative Blaine Wilhour of Beecher City today released the following statement in response to the resignation of State Representative Luis Arroyo:

“Due to the heat coming down on him from our Special Investigating Committee, Rep. Arroyo has resigned from the General Assembly. The federal bribery charges against Arroyo make it impossible for him to represent his constituents and only added to the reasons for Illinois citizens to distrust our government institutions.

This is only step one. I will continue to lead the fight to rid our state of these bad actors and aggressively push for strong anti-corruption legislation in Springfield. The ‘corruption tax’ on our citizens must end.”
