EIU Gets Good Grades from US News and World Report

Eastern Illinois University has once again received good grades from US News and World Report.

The magazine has ranked Eastern the highest independent public regional university in Illinois. US News has also lists Eastern as the third-highest independent public university in the Midwest. The territory encompasses 12 states including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. 

Rankings are based on schools' academic reputations, student selectivity, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources and alumni giving.

The magazine reported an above-average average freshman retention rate at Eastern of 73%, as well as an above-average student satisfaction rating.

US News also named Eastern to its Best Colleges for Veterans list.
