A semi tractor-trailer hauling paint overturned at Banker and Jaycee on the south side of Effingham during the noon hour Thursday.
The driver of the rig was out of the vehicle and unhurt following the incident, which blocked the northbound lane of Banker along the curb just north of Jaycee. The driver told our Wayne Moran that he had picked up a load of paint from Sherwin Williams, headed south on Raney through the business park, then turned east on Jaycee. The driver thinks the load in the trailer shifted, and that caused the rig to overturn when he turned onto Banker.

Effingham firefighters were initially on scene but were later released from the scene. A tow service was working as of 2pm to get the semi back on its wheels and cleared from the scene.
