The 2019 Effingham High School Homecoming Parade is set for Wednesday evening.

The parade will have a slightly different route than past years due to the reconstruction of Jefferson Avenue downtown.

This year's parade will line up along Maple Street, north of the hospital. The procession will move south on Maple to Jefferson Avenue and then follow the route as used in past years; west on Jefferson to Cherry Street, south on Cherry to Grove Avenue, and west on Grove to the high school.

This year's parade will step off at 6:15pm.

A powder puff football game involving the senior girls is planned following the parade.

The Homecoming football game against Mattoon is set for 7pm Friday at Klosterman Field. We'll have the game on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com. The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at halftime.

The Homecoming dance will take place Saturday night at EHS.
