We told you a few weeks about a special night organized by Effingham Terrace for those with developmental disabilities.

That night is tonight.

It's a Prom Night; something that many of the Effingham Terrace and others with developmental disabilities never got to experience.

Effingham Terrace organizers asked their residents what they wanted to do for an activity and several residents suggested a dance.  The conversation revealed that many of the residents had never gotten to go to a prom.

That will change tonight with the special gathering planned from 6-8pm at the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Hall.  There will be special music and refreshments.

Effingham Terrace officials said this morning that they expect around 130 people.  If you'd like to attend, phone Effingham Terrace today at 342-9313 so they can make accommodation for you.
