Three motorcycle riders were injured in a crash near Centralia Saturday afternoon.

State police say the riders were part of a group of 50 to 60 motorcycle riders traveling northbound on US Route 51 just north of Centralia at 3:22pm. Police say one of the motorcycles was attempting to pass others in the group and when the rider pulled back into the group, the three cycles went down onto the pavement.

The riders of the cycles are 47-year-old David Cluck of Centralia, 38-year-old Jeremy Hagen of Clay City, and 41-year-old James Riddle of Louisville. Cluck was airlifted from the scene to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, while Hagen and Riddle were transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.

Hagen was cited for driving while his license is suspended and no valid insurance.
