Two Crashes in Town Resulting Injuries

(THIS IS THE SCENE AT THE THURSDAY MORNING CRASH AT JEFFERSON AND MULBERRY)

City police handled two crashes resulting in injuries; one Wednesday afternoon, the other Thursday morning.

The Wednesday afternoon crash occurred at 5:17pm at Fayette and Walnut. Police report a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Jason Pruemer of Shumway rear-ended a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Melissa McKenzie of Oblong. 

McKenzie and her passenger, 29-year-old Dawn Deain of Newton, were injured and were transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. No citations.

The Thursday morning crash occurred at 8:54am at Jefferson and Mulberry. Police say a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Abby McIntyre of Effingham pulled into the path of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Scenna Lybarger of Effingham.

McIntyre was injured, but declined treatment. McIntyre was cited for failure to yield.
