A crash resulting from an earlier crash tied up eastbound traffic on I-70 east of Effingham Thursday afternoon.

The crash occurred at 1:25pm two miles east of Effingham. Illinois State Police say eastbound traffic was slowed or stopped along a three-mile stretch of the interstate near the Montrose interchange while debris from an earlier crash was being removed.

A semi driven by 53-year-old Jeffrey Schlieve of Bristow, Oklahoma, was slowing and coming to a stop when a pickup truck pulling a camper rear-ended Schlieve's semi.

The driver of the pickup truck pulling the camper, 65-year-old David Kallweit of Lansing, Michigan, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.

A passenger in the pickup truck, 57-year-old Leanne Kallweit of Lansing, Michigan, was injured and was taken for treatment to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
