Hires Running for 109th Seat

Richland County Sheriff Andy Hires has announced that he will seek the Republican nomination for the 109th District State Representative in the March 2020 Primary. 

The 109th State House District is made up of all or parts of 9 counties in Southeastern Illinois, this includes all or parts or Clay, Edwards, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland,Wabash, White and Wayne Counties.

Hires recently was elected to his fourth term as Richland County Sheriff. He graduated in 1988 from Newton Community High School and returned from living in Texas in 1997 when he accepted a position with the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. In 1998 he married his wife Trisha and they have three childeren.
