Some account holders of Midland States Bank have found a phantom charge on their accounts, but it doesn't appear they've lost any money.

The account holders found a phantom charge from a firm called Oil Revolution Design, allegedly based in Birmingham, Alabama. A check of the Web seems to indicate the company deals in essential oils, not motor oil or crude oil. It's not certain, though, whethe the company was also being victimized by someone else using their company name as a front.

One Midland customer told us Friday afternoon that the phantom charge on their account was for no money; $0.00. The customer's concern was that if that charge wasn't challenged, another phantom charge could be for a considerable amount of money.

The customer said the bank has already canceled their previous account and issued a new card with new numbers to prevent further phantom charges.

We contacted Midland later Friday afternoon, but weren't successful in making contact with someone who could properly address the issue.
