Unit 40 Board Handles Personnel Moves

Effingham Unit 40 school board members acted on a series of personnel moves at Monday's meeting.

Those employed included Kelly Lohman as a Special Education teacher at South Side; Tammy Birch as a two-hour midday Special Education bus driver; Ramona Blankenship as a custodian at Central Grade School; and Kim Blickem as a PE and driver's ed teacher at Effingham High School.

Transfers approved included Danielle Peyton as a first and second grade interventionist at South Side; and Leah Schrock as a first grade teacher at South Side.

Retirement okayed included Denise Willenborg as a bus driver, and Joe Fatheree and Darlene Fatheree as of the end of the 2022-2023 school year.

Resignations were accepted from Sarah Hoene as a teacher at South Side; Carsen Funneman as a teacher at the junior high school; Greg Brumleve as an Industrial Arts teacher at the high school; Nancy Moeller as a three-hour cook at the junior high school; Jodi Anders as a nurse paraprofessional; and Tammy Birch as a cashier at the high school.

Leaves of absence were approved for Holly Dust, Charlotte West and Darlene Krietemeyer under the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Several appointments were approved. Those include Tracie Riley as high school fall play director; Donna Walls as junior high drama director; Dannette Williamson as split Student Council sponsor at the high school; and Carol Babbs as high school assistant Scholar Bowl coach.

Other appointments were athletics-related. Those include Colton Booher as JV boys basketball coach; Bryan McMillan as high school wrestling coach; Jerry Trigg as high school head softball coach; Justin Heiden as frosh/soph boys basketball coach; Troy VanBlaricum as frosh/soph girls basketball coach; Megan McDonald as frosh/soph girls basketball coach; Mike McDonald as high school assistant football coach; Jeff Tonn as 8th grade girls basketball coach; Ken Cornell as 7th grade boys basketball coach; Mike Depoister as 7th grade girls basketball coach; Jerry Trigg as high school girls golf coach; Colleen Westendorf as high school assistant volleyball coach; Juan Angel as high school assistant soccer coach; Kristin Harvey as high school assistant softball coach; Hillary Kopplin as junior high head softball coach; Rich Hirtzel as junior high assistant baseball coach; and Melissa Bushur as girls 8th grade track coach.

Approved as volunteers were Jeff Tonn as assistant high school softball coach; Elizabeth Braunecker as high school boys and girls swim coach and David Duncan as high school boys and girls swim coach; Evan Evans as assistant high school football coach and Shane Smith as assistant high school football coach; Micaela Chrappa as junior high volleyball assistant coach; Chase Green as junior high baseball coach; Phil Hull as junior high baseball and basketball coach; Kaylee Tonn as high school softball coach; and Bill Hoeske as assistant high school football coach.
