Fire Crews Respond to Train Fire

Effingham Firefighters were called to the area of 1805 South 4th Street at approximately 5:37 this morning for a train engine on fire.

The engine was detached from the train on the CN Tracks spur as firefighters accessed the scene from the Lincolnland Building parking lot.

When emergency personal arrived on scene  railroad workers had already extinguished the fire. 

Fire department personel performed an additional inspection of the engine and left the scene at 5:54.
