Vehicles Collide in Effingham Wednesday Afternoon

Vehicles collided Wednesday afternoon in Effingham, injuring one of the drivers.

The crash happened just after 3pm at Keller Drive and Avenue of Mid-America. City police report a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old turned into the path of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Melody Jenkins of Lakewood. Police did not release the name of the teenaged driver.

Jenkins was injured in the crash and was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

The juvenile was cited for no valid driver's license and failure to yield.
