Altamont School Board Handles Numerous Coaching Assignments

Altamont school board members handled numerous coaching assignments at this week's meeting.

The Board approved the resignation of Lindsay VanBlaricum as 7th grade girls basketball coach and hired Wesley Woodard to fill the position; approved the employment of Kaylee Tonn as volunteer junior high softball coach; employed Clint Reardon as volunteer junior high softball coach; approved the resignation of Rodney Redfern as junior high baseball coach and hired Grant Beals to fill the vacancy; accepted the resignation of Laith Russell as assistant high school volleyball coach and employed Brittany Hites to fill the vacancy; employed Trenton Kull as assistant soccer coach; and employed Kurt Reardon as volunteer assistant baseball coach.

Altamont board members also employed Shelby Niehaus as high school yearbook advisor; approved a salary adjustment of 2.5% for Kathy Clausius for the coming school year; directed the superintendent to begin preparing the budget for the coming fiscal year; and approved a contract with Quality Network Solutions for one year at $10,000. The Board also approved a bank bid from Peoples Bank and Trust for one year; and acknowledged Altamont Community High School being named one of 2019's America's Best High Schools.

The Altamont board also recognized those competing at the National Trap Shoot in Michigan this Thursday through Saturday. Trap Team members are Dalton Stein, Paula Holland, Adrianna Harris, Grant Schmidt, Devon Sloan, Connor Thompson and Chris Holland from Altamont and Kaiden Kohnert from Effingham.
