Teutopolis school board members continued discussing renovation and construction projects at the high school building at this month's meeting.

The Board approved change orders on the high school project, including removal of a condensate pump and piping, patch floor and wall, removal of the old heater and piping, and cutting holes in the roof to look at sections above the ceilings.

Board members discussed the layout for the locker room and bathroom renovation project in the area near J.H. Griffin Gym. The Board also approved a furniture purchase for the high school renovated classrooms, and approved a plaque for the addition to the new high school to include nine Board member names.

Teutopolis board members also approved a revised calendar for the coming school year; approved a workers compensation insurance bid from State National Insurance Company through Arthur J. Gallagher; approved handbook changes for the coming school year as recommended from the Handbook Committee; and approved an amended budget for 2018-19.

Board members approved technology purchases in excess of $15,000, and discussed entering into a contract for a videoboard in the high school gym, but denied the proposal. The Board also received a prioritized buildings and grounds list, and received insurance renewal information for property/casualty/liability coverage.

There were several personnel moves, including accepting the resignation of Superintendent Bill Fritcher, who is taking the same post at Neoga. Retirements or resignations were also accepted from Brittany Beals as junior high volleyball assistant coach, Rich Niebrugge as varsity softball coach, Michael Martin as a high school English teacher, and Ellie Ruholl as a teacher's aide.

The Board hired Lisa Miller as a four-hour cook at the junior high school, Maria Tegeler as high school secretary and athletic secretary, Allison Vogt as high school head girls tennis coach, Cassie Miller as high school assistant track coach, Jamie Herboth as grade school Title I reading teacher, Sarah Hoene as junior high assistant Scholar Bowl coach, and Amy Thoele as a teacher aide.
