In a surprising move, former Illinois Governor George Ryan is back at home.

Ryan was released from a federal prison in Terre Haute early yesterday.  After a very brief stop at a Chicago halfway house, he was allowed to continue on to his home in Kankakee, where he will spend the last six months of his sentence.

Officials say the 79-year-old Ryan wasn't given special attention, and that age and health are taken into consideration.
