The Illinois State Board of Elections unveiled a redesigned website at elections.il.gov. The website provides voters with election and registration information.

The revamped website is designed to help users find the information they need as quickly and efficiently as possible. It was the first major change since the board began publishing campaign records online in 1998.

The redesign optimizes site access for cellphones and tablets.

Seven tabs at the top of the homepage are arranged by user and type of information: voters, political committees, candidates, election numbers, business registration, news media and board meeting information. The tabs open to display drop-down menus with links to specific documents and pages.

Users will find special emphasis on providing voters with registration information, allowing them to check  their registration status, find polling places, look up their elected officials and find election information.
