Altamont School Board Works on Personnel Matters

Altamont school board members acted on several personnel items at this month's meeting.

The Board approved a wage adjustment of 2.5% for exempt employees. They also hired Chipman Schmidt as a technology support specialist. The Board also approved posting bids to hire an IT consulting firm for one. In the meantime, the Board approved the retention of Charlie Niehaus as a 1099 employee for the coming school year. Niehaus retired at the end of the current school year as Technology Director.

Nicholas Tkachuk and Holly Koester were approved as summer workers, and the Board approved four individuals as certified staff and assigned to Altamont Grade School: Robbie Kline, Lindsey Wendling, Kimberly Splechter and Mildred Cowger.

Altamont board memers approved the appointment of Rita Guse as district treasurer; approved the hosting of the Effingham County school collaborative meeting; approved Dena Beccue as junior high cheer sponsor; approved the resignations of Nikki Worman and Meredith Dust; approved Athletic Director Peggy Bueker to apply to the IHSA for Cooperative Team Sponsorship with CHBC for soccer; and approved hired Katrina Bauer to teach high school Math.
