Two semis collided on I-57/70 at the Fayette Avenue interchange Thursday afternoon, injuring one of the drivers.

The crash happened at 1pm. State police report a rig driven by 53-year-old Anthony Castellano of Weirton, West Virginia was slowed to take the Fayette Avenue offramp when a rig driven by 63-year-old Michael Bryan of Brampton, Ontario, Canada struck the Castellano rig from behind.

Castellano was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Bryan was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.

This incident was separate from the crash that had occurred around 11am on I-70 westbound, about four miles east of Altamont, that tied up westbound traffic for sometime. There's no indication anyone was injured in that crash, however.
