A local man has been sentenced to prison time for drugs.

33-year-old Nathan Roley of Dieterich was given a 42-month sentence for possession of methamphetamine. Once out of prison, Roley will be on mandatory supervised release for one year. He was given credit for 57 days served in jail while awaiting disposition of his case.

The defense asked for probation, but Judge Kevin Parker said probation would deprecate the seriousness of the offense.
