Three semis were involved in the crash that tied up traffic on Eastbound I-70 Thursday afternoon.

State police report rigs driven by 36-year-old Yashpal Bhangu of Twinsburg, Ohio and 47-year-old David Stanley of New Paris, Indiana were slowed due to traffic congestion at Milepost 80, about two miles west of Altamont, when a semi driven by 60-year-old Marc Aldredge of Ft. Wayne, Indiana failed to slow and rear-ended Bhangu's rig, pushing it into the rear of Stanley's semi.

Aldredge was injured and was transported to Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Aldredge was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.

Eastbound traffic was slowed or stopped for about two hours following the crash, which occurred at 3:04pm.
