Superintendent Deb Philpot told the St. Elmo Board of Education Monday that, as of mid-year, the school district has only received one of four quarterly categorical payments from the State.

Board members were also updated on elementary school activities and programs, heard about junior/senior high school activities, and heard about the district's Educational Foundation activities.

The Board hired Dana Pasley as high school assistant girls softball coach and approved a senior class trip to Chicago in late April.

St. Elmo board members also approved a new four-year employment contract with Philpot extending through the 2016-2017 school year.
