One person was injured when a semi collided with a pickup truck outside Effingham over the weekend.

State police say the crash occurred at 3am Saturday on I-57 near the north tri-level.  The driver of the pickup truck, Jarrett Manning of Wentzville, Missouri, fell asleep and the pickup struck the trailer of the rig, driven by Ibrahim Murharovic of St. Peter's, Missouri.

Manning was injured and was taken for treatment to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.  Murharovic was not injured.

Manning was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
