The National Weather Service office in Lincoln is indicating a slight risk for severe weather in our area Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The target area includes most of central, eastern and southeastern Illinois.  The main threat will be strong and damaging winds.  Isolated tornadoes will also be possible.

Heavy rainfall is possible across central, eastern and southeast Illinois, mainly Tuesday and Tuesday night.  Total rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.5 inches is possible along and southeast of the Illinois River.

Frozen ground will cause most of the rain to become runoff, causing rapid rises in area creeks, streams and rivers.  River basins affected: Sangamon, Embarras, Wabash and Little Wabash.
