Cumberland County authorities are investigating an armed robbery in the Montrose area Friday night.

The holdup reportedly involved two men with guns holding a business north of Montrose.  The information available indicates the two suspects tied the woman working at the business to a door and fled after taking money from the business.

Additional details are expected on Monday.

The St. Anthony Bellettes dance team finished third in the state in Class 1A at Saturday's finals of the first-ever state competitive dance team finals.

St. Anthony qualified for the finals on Friday, finishing seventh and advancing as one of the top 10 squads.  Then came the third place finish in the finals on Saturday.

The Teutopolis Pomerettes also qualified to compete at the state dance team competition, but they failed to advance to Saturday's finals.  Dani Ruholl coaches the Teutopolis Pomerettes.

Catholic Schools Week for 2013 gets underway today in some of our local Catholic schools.

At Sacred Heart School in Effingham, following this year's theme "Raise the Standards", students will participate in this morning's 10:30am Mass serving as lectors, musicians, servers and gift bearers; postcards will be mailed to parishioners to thank them for the continued support of Sacred Heart School and the Adopt-A-Student program that ensures full or partial financial assistance for tuition costs.

At St. Michael's in Sigel, the theme is "St. Michael's School Raises the Standards with Our Parish Family"  A parish mass is set for 10am with coffee and donuts furnished.

St. Anthony Grade and High school activities can begin on Monday.
