A special name reveal event for the Effingham Dog Park will take place on Saturday, March 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Brown Kluthe Pavilion in Evergreen Hollow Park in Effingham.

A variety of local food vendors, including The Dog, Homewood Grill, Martin’s IGA, and Dad’s Smokin’ Butt BBQ will be on site. Becci’s Paw Pantry and Dianna’s Barkery & More will be selling pet treats and other items. Other pet specialty vendors in attendance include Wags and Whiskers, Special Pet Foods, Pampered Pets and Pets Bloom. EARS, Effingham Humane Society, and Animal Control will be on site as well. Dr. Ealy will be micro-chipping dogs for EARS.

The Effingham Impact 2030 Vibrant Economy team is hosting this event to announce the winning name of the proposed Effingham dog park. The Bark Madness naming competition began on February 20 with 32 names that were selected by the dog park committee from the original 225 submissions which included 157 unique submissions. The names were narrowed down through a bracket style competition. Effingham Bark District and Evergreen Bark Park are the names that are going head-to-head in the final round.
