Teutopolis Village Board members Wednesday heard a presentation for TIF dollars from a manufacturer now operating out of Farmweld.

The request was made by Farmweld, but on behalf of Canarm, a manufacturer of lights. The Canadian-based business has a small operation in the Farmweld building on the east side of Teutopolis, but is looking at establishing a major distribution center either in Illinois or Indiana. Canarm merchandise is sold locally at Menard.

There was no action by the Board on the request.

There was more discussion by the Board on determining size and height restrictions for accessory buildings in the village. The issue came to light due to concerns that accessory buildings were being built that are judged too big for the lots they were built on. Some possible guidelines are being discussed, but there was no decision by the Board.

Teutopolis board members also okayed the purchase of new tires for a back hoe from the low bidder once parameters were settled on, and the Board released any claim on an improved lot in Prairie View Subdivision.
