The St. Anthony Bellettes and the Teutopolis Pomerettes are ready for competition Friday in the preliminaries of the inaugural Illinois Competive Dance State Finals.

The finals, sponsored by the Illinois High School Association, are to be held at US Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington.  Friday's prelims will feature 91 total teams (30 in 1A and 3A and 31 in 2A due to a tie) and the Top 10 teams in each class will move on to perform again on Saturday in the finals.

Every performance will be streamed live on IHSA.TV, available by clicking here.

241 teams initially entered to participate this season and 207 competed in the State Series.  64 teams competed in Class 1A, 69 in Class 2A and 74 in Class 3A.  Rosters have a maximum of 28 team members.  A team can have as many as 24 dancers on the floor for a performance and must have at least five dancers on the floor to perform.

It's an open format, which provides one routine where all genres and styles compete against one another.

St. Anthony is the smallest school to qualify for the state finals.

Here's the schedule for Friday's preliminaries:

St. Anthony (3rd to perform)--report at 9:48am, full floor at 10:02am, perform at 10:27am

Teutopolis (21st to perform)--report at 11:36am, full floor at 11:50am, perform at 12:15pm

Announcements on who will advance to Saturday's finals are expected at 1:15pm for Class 1A and at 8:30pm for Classes 2A and 3A.

Lynn Vogel coaches the Bellettes, while Dani Ruholl is the coach of the Pomerettes.
