The two Effingham education unions, Effingham Classroom Teachers Association and Effingham Education Support Professionals Association, will sponsor an Effingham School Board Candidate Forum on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30pm at the Effingham Elks Lodge, 2102 South Banker Street.

“Just as we, the Education Unions, advocate for quality public education in safe, positive, and constructive learning and working environments in Unit #40, we believe that the members of Unit #40 School Board of Education are an integral part to insuring that happens for all of our students and staff,” states Shannon Hall-Nannini, ECTA President. "For this reason, we are sponsoring an Effingham School Board Candidate Forum for Unit #40 candidates to educate the community-at-large, and encourage involvement and voting in the upcoming spring school board elections."

"Our goal is to help our Effingham students strive to become the very best they can be in school, in the community and in life. We are all life-long learners,” shares Sandy Lohman, ECTA Treasurer.

The Effingham Classroom Teachers and the Effingham Education Support Employees invite the public to attend this event and have the opportunity to meet the candidates, hear their perspectives on educational matters, and ask questions.
