A student at a local alternative school has been arrested after threatening staff members at the school this week.

Effingham City Police Chief Jeff Fuesting said the 16-year-old boy "made a specific threat to staff to do them harm." Fuesting said the incident occurred Tuesday at TLC.

The youth was arrested on a charge of making a terroristic threat. Fuesting said the youth's home was searched, but no weapons were found.
