Dieterich school board members Monday approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Regional Office of Education for alternative education services. The Board also amended the school year calendar to reflect an emergency day taken due to inclement weather on January 30.

The Board set the date for high school graduation. This year's graduation will be on Saturday, May 18, at 2pm.

District Superintendent Cary Jackson informed the Board that the District's application for the 2019 Property Tax Relief Grant was denied. $50 million was made available for property tax relief through the grant. 28 school districts were found eligible for the grant.

The Dieterich board renewed the District's membership in the Association of Illinois Rural and Small Schools; approved purchase of new History and World Geography books; and approved purchase of a new sound system for the high school gym. The Board also heard three facility proposals from Superintendent Jackson. The proposals are: additional electronic door locks for safety, exterior painting and signage for the interior of the building.

Board members renewed the contract for Junior-Senior High School Principal Scott Kocher for next school year, reassigned After School Program employee Maggie Britton from aide to assistant director, and approved Lindsay Burton as a volunteer coach for high school girls softball.
