A local business has made a considerable contribution toward a project to benefit the Effingham County Sheriff's Department.

J&R Collision Centers presented a check to Sheriff David Mahon and the Sheriff's Department for $2,500. The members of the sheriff's department have been reaching out to area businesses in a fundraising effort. The funds raised will be used to acquire and train a new K9 Unit for the department.
