A major watermain cut occurred Monday morning in the Village of Teutopolis.

Teutopolis schools were dismissed at 9:45am, and buses took students home.

Reports are that a cable company working in the village cut the watermain and the water supply serving the west end of the village was depleted. That's the reason behind the dismissal of school in Teutopolis. The water supply for the east end of the village is intact.

The service was restored around 3pm. Teutopolis village officials say these are the areas under a boil order until further notice: Weber Subdivision, Country Lane Subdivision, and the businesses along Route 40 from Harvester Street, west.
