"Wonderland in Lights", a drive-through light display that features a variety of lighted Christmas scenes in Community Park, continued to grow in attendance and in giving in 2018.

The display, sponsored by the City of Effingham Convention and Visitors Bureau, generated $18,348.21 in donations and 7,728 vehicles. City Tourism Director Jodi Thoele said the numbers are a significant increase from 2017.

Thoele said the financial contributions are crucial, as each season's funds sustain the displays for the following year. She said officials look forward to purchasing new displays to help light up the City of Effingham again next year.

Thoele thanked the volunteers who helped staff the display, and also offered a special thank you to all who visited the display and donated.
