(THE JANSEN FAMILY GATHERED FOR MONDAY EVENING'S DEDICATION AND OPEN HOUSE)

Community Support Systems has as one of its missions enabling citizens with special needs to live independently as much as possible.

That led the organization to reduce the number of those living in a group home in Effingham from 16 to eight. As to what to do to accommodate those eight displaced individuals, CSS has established two duplexes, one in Teutopolis, the other in Dieterich.

The Dieterich duplex, known as Jansen House, was shown off Monday evening during a dedication and Open House. Contributors to a low-key but highly-effective capital campaign and the contractors who built the Jansen House were invited to take a look at the finished product. The future residents were also on hand to show off their new home.

The Dieterich location is known as Jansen House because of the major contribution made by the Jansen family, whose sister is one of the residents. Jerry Jansen served as the spokesman for the family during a conversation with our Greg Sapp...

Greg also visited with CSS Executive Director Andy Kistler about the project and the agency's efforts to provide more independent living for their residents...

Jansen was pleased with the warm welcome CSS received in Dieterich. Village Board President Brad Hardiek was among those on hand for Monday's reception. Jansen House is located in a newly-developing residential area west of the Dieterich school complex.
