A lottery was held Tuesday morning to determine ballot position in the Lake Land College Board of Trustees election.

The lottery involved incumbent Dave Storm of Effingham and challenger Kevin L. Curtis of Mattoon, with Storm's number being pulled to earn him the top spot, followed by Curtis. Meg Yargus Steward of Marshall is a third candidate for one of two six-year terms on the Board.

Incumbent Bruce Owen of Dieterich is not seeking re-election.

Steward is currently a member of the Board of Trustees, having been appointed to fill the term of Dr. Robert Luther when he resigned from the Board shortly before his death.

Denise Walk of Teutopolis, who initially filed for one of the six-year terms, later withdrew from that race and has since filed to fill out the unexpired term. Walk is the sole candidate for that seat on the Board.

Election Day will be April 2, 2019.
