A semi and school bus collided head-on in McLean County on Wednesday night.

State police say the crash happened just after 8:30pm on I-74. The semi, driven by an Iowa man, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes and struck the bus. The bus was carrying members of the Normal West girls JV basketball team.

The driver of the semi died in the crash, along with a 72-year-old man who was riding on the bus, Charles Crabtree of Normal. Three adults were taken to Normal-area hospitals, along with eight team members who were treated for what were termed non-life threatening injuries.
