The Effingham Public Library has announced the launch of its Annual Fund 2018 campaign, aimed at raising funds to support the new after-school program for middle school students and to reducing the library’s building debt.

The Annual Fund campaign, RISE with Effingham Public Library, has received the support of Midland States Bank, which will match dollar for dollar every financial gift the Library receives up to $25,000.

“We realize the importance of providing a safe place for youth to grow and learn, which is why we are proud to partner with the Effingham Public Library for this campaign,” said Tim Spitz, Senior Vice President of Banking of Midland States Bank. “The vision of this RISE campaign speaks greatly to their creativity and teamwork.”

The goal for this year’s campaign is to raise $60,000.

Funds from the campaign will be used to support the Library’s RISE After-School Program, which provides free after-school programming and activities for area students in 5ththrough 8th grades. Funds also will be used to reduce the library’s building debt.

Anyone wishing to make a financial contribution to the campaign may contact Library Director Amanda McKay at 217-342-2464 or at amanda@effinghamlibrary.org. Contributions can be made by credit card on the library’s website.
