(SACRED HEART FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN VOLUNTEERS W/THE BIG CHECK)

This past weekend, Sacred Heart Catholic Parish of Effingham announced the results thus far for its "Renew & Rejoice" Capital Campaign. The campaign commenced in mid-September to raise the funds required to renovate and expand the church’s worship space.

The parish had set a “Minimum” goal of $1,600,000 for the effort, as well as an “Ultimate” goal of $2,250,000, which would enable Sacred Heart Parish to complete all of their plans with no long-term debt.

More than 150 parish volunteers assisted with the campaign – meeting with fellow parishioners and friends of Sacred Heart to answer questions and invite them to support the project, preparing mailings and making phone calls, providing hospitality, etc. Over 430 parishioners, friends, and community businesses have contributed to the campaign, which has raised $2,810,266.00 in donations and pledges to date! Pending approval from Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki, the Parish hopes to begin its renovation project in the spring of 2019.

The church was assisted in their effort by a Minnesota-based fundraising consulting firm, Walsh & Associates, who specialize in church capital campaigns.
