We have received some information on how you can help those in Taylorville affected by Saturday evening's tornado.

Effingham City EMA Director Kim Tegeler released this information from Taylorville officials:

The City of Taylorville and the surrounding area is very thankful for everyone's willingness to give, whether monetary, time, materials or thoughts and prayers. In the current phase of recovery operations, specific needs have been identified that you can focus your efforts on in helping with the recovery of those affected by the recent tornado. Monetary donations can be sent to Missions for Taylorville, c/o City Hall, 115 North Main, Taylorville, IL 62568, or you can take the funds directly to US Bank, 108 West Market Street in Taylorville, who will be managing the fund.

At this time, clothing is not needed at this phase of the disaster.

The American Red Cross is in the process of establishing a donated tangible goods list of items needed and a drop-off location. As soon as the details are known, they will be released.
