Three people were arrested Wednesday in Mattoon on drug charges.

Taylor D. Collins, age 25 of Mattoon, was arrested just before 2 p.m. Collins was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and also had an outstanding Coles County warrant of arrest for Burglary. A second man, Colton T. Bloxom, age 24 of Mattoon, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, and Alexa K. Webb, age 21 of Mattoon, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, later that afternoon.

The incident began when Mattoon police were dispatched to the parking lot of Motel 6 regarding a report of Domestic Violence in which a man allegedly was battering a female. Upon arrival officers made contact with Taylor Collins, and found him to be in possession of almost one-quarter pound (1/4#) of methamphetamine that was packaged for delivery. Collins, a convicted felon,  also admitted to being in possession of two handguns. Furthermore, Collins was wanted on an arrest warrant for Burglary in which he allegedly stole, and sold numerous power tools over the course of the last two (2) months in the Mattoon area.

Officers also had contact with Bloxom, who was found to be in possession of meth and is allegedly involved in the sale of meth with Collins. A search warrant was served at two rooms within the hotel that were rented to Alexa Webb. An additional ounce of methamphetamine was located within her room as well as numerous bullets for Collins handguns. Stolen power tools and $4500.00 cash were seized during the investigation. All suspects were taken to jail.
