Cowden-Herrick school board members acted this month to approve the tentative fiscal year tax levy, and to secure Nextera Energy as the electric supplier for the Cowden-Herrick Elementary School under a one-year contract.

The Board tabled discussion of how to use the revenue from the county facilities sales tax until the December meeting, and heard from Superintendent Seth Schuler on the Ag welding equipment purchased via grant funds, as well the school report card and reports from building principals.

Board members hired Larry Young as high school girls assistant basketball coach, hired Tashina Calame as 5th and 6th grade basketball coach, and hired Kevin Calame as 5th and 6th grade volunteer assistant coach.
