Altamont school board members have approved School Messenger as the builder of a new website for the district. The work will cost a total of $22,500 on a four-year agreement.

In personnel moves, the Altamont board accepted resignations from John Niebrugge as high school golf coach, Tara Quandt as high school dance instructor, Thomas Beesley as custodian, and Kara LaMar as transportation and teacher's aide. Maternity leave requests were approved for Courtnie Mullen and Rhiannon Boehm.

Altamont board members approved an intergovernmental agreement with Mound Township Road District, and approved high school Business class additions of Intro to Business and IT Self-Study.

The Board heard that both the grade and the high school received "commendable" designations concerning the Every Student Succeeds Act from the Illinois State Board of Education. Also shared was commendation to two Altamont Student Council members; Kolby Scoles who was elected vice-president of the Eastern Illinois District Association of Student Councils, and Addie Smith for concluding her career as the EIDASC Treasurer.
