Results of Area County Races from Tuesday

Here's a look at results of races from area counties on Tuesday:

In Fayette County, Republican Vicky Conder defeated Democrat Donna Thull for County Clerk 4,861 to 2,312. Republican Michelle Hagy defeated Democrat Lucas Watson for County Treasurer 5,126 to 1,973. Republican Chris Smith was re-elected County Sheriff over Democrat Ed Durbin 4,646 to 2,575.

In Cumberland County, Republican Steve Maroon defeated Democrat Eric Darrell Price for County Sheriff 3,719 to 598. On the referendum question concerning the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, the vote was overwhelming; 3,959 Yes to 263 No.

In Shelby County, Republican Erica Firnhaber defeated Democrat Beth Musser for County Treasurer 6,077 to 3,148. Republican Amanda Ade-Harlow defeated Democrat Gina Vonderheide for Resident Circuit Judge 6,073 to 3,126. Republican Gary Patterson defeated Democrat J.R. Stephens for County Board from District 3 577 to 263.

In Jasper County, Republican Amy Tarr defeated longtime Democrat incumbent Linda Griffith Huth for County Clerk 3,227 to 1,279. Democrat Brandon Francis defeated Republican John Curtis for County Sheriff filling a position once held by his father, Ed Francis, 3,350 to 1,155. Republican Darrell Hickox and Democrat Brian Leffler were elected to the County Board from District 1 with 697 and 561 votes, respectively, to 547 votes for Republican Adam Deckard. Republican Benjamin Bollman and Democrat Daniel Kerner were elected to the County Board from District 3 with 831 and 722 votes, respectively, to 580 votes for Democrat Galen Mendenhall. Jasper County voters also decided 2,801 Yes to 1,678 No in favor of a county sales tax that will generate funds for school building construction and maintenance.
