If the early turnout is any indication, it will be a very busy Election Day in Effingham County on Tuesday.

Effingham County Clerk Kerry Hirtzel, who serves as Chief Election Authority for the county, said a total of 1,984 Early and Grace Period ballots were cast in his office. There have also been 560 more Vote By Mail ballots requested, although not all have been returned.

Hirtzel said the high day was Friday when 213 voters dropped in. 112 people voted Saturday morning when the office had special hours to accommodate voters.

The County Clerk's office is open until 4pm today for Early Voting.

Anyone needing to register, or update their registration in the way of an address change, name change, or the like may do so today or Tuesday in the County Clerk's office.

Polls will be open from 6am to 7pm tomorrow. We will be stationed at the County Office Building tomorrow night reporting on returns as soon as they're available, and we will have results posted on our website, as well.

Zak has the sample ballot for Effingham County posted on the website.
