Effingham Mayor Jeff Bloemker reminds local liquor license holders of the State of Illinois Liquor Control Commission’s BASSET training requirement.

As of July 1, 2018, Illinois became a mandatory server training state. The State Commission’s Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education and Training (BASSET) Program is required for all servers, bartenders and security detail to be certified by a licensed BASSET provider. Package liquor establishments are exempt. For more information regarding the BASSET Program or a listing of licensed BASSET providers and courses, check the ILCC website at www.illinois.gov/ilcc.

Mayor Bloemker serves as the City’s liquor control commissioner assisted by Jane Kemper, deputy liquor control commissioner. Questions and concerns may be addressed by calling City Hall at 342-5300 or via email at jkemper@effinghamil.com.
