The area of this past week's tanker truck crash on I-57 between Farina and Kinmundy continues to be an issue.

Saturday evening, Illinois State Police and IDOT made the call to re-close the area to traffic due to concerns about a "minute vapor cloud" and the chemicals in the tanker. Traffic is being re-routed off I-57 at both Farina and Kinmundy, using Illinois Route 37 as a bypass.

Weather permitting, crews are supposed to return to the area Sunday morning in hopes of removing the tanker and clearing the scene.
