The teenager who took a gun to Mattoon High School last year leading to a student being shot and wounded has been sentenced.

15-year-old Josiah Lyons was sentenced to time in a juvenile correctional facility until he's 21. Judge Matt Sullivan also ordered that if Lyons makes trouble in the meantime, he will have to serve up to 25 years in an adult prison.

Lyons took a gun to the school on September 20, 2017 and at one point pointed the weapon at a student in the school cafeteria. As a teacher attempted to gain control of the weapon, it discharged and a student was wounded. Lyons admitted in a juvenile court petition in August to aggravated battery with a firearm.
